Our
Story

Welcome to Menucha!

Established in 2019 by a group of Jewish women in NW London, Menucha is an organisation born from personal experiences of postnatal depression and perinatal mental health issues. Our founders' firsthand encounters with these challenges have fueled our commitment to offering unwavering support, valuable resources, specialised therapy, and comprehensive assistance to individuals and families navigating similar journeys. Motivated by their own experiences, they recognised the importance of addressing the stigma surrounding these conditions and ensuring that no one feels alone on their path to recovery. Menucha was established as a safe haven, where individuals can find understanding, support, and practical help.

At Menucha, we understand that perinatal mental health issues can affect anyone, and our services are inclusive and open to all Jewish women and their families. We are committed to fostering an environment of empathy, acceptance, and non-judgment, ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued.

Through our programs and services, we strive to raise awareness about perinatal mental health, provide vital information and resources, offer therapy sessions with our specialised therapists, and extend physical support to families in need. We believe that by working together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by perinatal mental health disorders.

Founded within the NW London Jewish community we understand that cultural factors can significantly influence the perception, expression, and treatment of perinatal mental health issues. Therefore, we have made it a priority to ensure that our services and programs are tailored to address the specific needs and cultural nuances of the communities we serve.

At Menucha, we actively work to bridge the gap between cultural diversity and mental health support, ensuring that all services are accessible, relevant, and sensitive. We are committed to promoting cultural understanding for statutory services and breaking down barriers to ensure our clients receive the care they need.

Thank you for visiting Menucha. We invite you to join us on this journey as we strive to provide support, resources, specialised therapy and assistance to individuals and families experiencing perinatal mental health issues.
